NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly robbing a person of Rs 1 lakh at gunpoint inside an ATM in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura area, according to police reports on Saturday.
The incident occurred on March 26 when Kasif Qamar and his friend Naseem went to deposit money at an ATM on Yamuna Vihar Service Road around 2:50 am. While inside the ATM, Danish, also known as Sonu, entered and robbed them of Rs 1 lakh cash at gunpoint.

A case was registered under Section 309 (robbery) of the BNS and Arms Act at Bhajanpura Police Station, leading to a swift investigation. Through the analysis of CCTV footage and intelligence gathering, the suspect was apprehended within 24 hours in the Karawal Nagar area.
During interrogation, Danish admitted to the crime, leading to the recovery of a semi-automatic pistol and two bullets used in the robbery. Efforts are underway to retrieve the stolen cash, as the investigation continues.
