Delhi: It seems an unending nightmare for the residents of East Delhi’s IPEX Patparganj Societies. The crime like theft, chain and mobile phone snatching has been on the rise for quite some time, that appears to be a routine affair of the vicinity inhabited mostly by the elite lot of society. In the recent past Sah Vikas and its other adjacent apartments have been targeted as a spate of burglaries visited the apartment. A couple of days ago, burglars broke in Associates Apartment and committed thefts worth rupees a crore plus.
Though the thieves were caught on CCTV yet no arrest has been made in this connection.
The stretch extremely vulnerable is near the Community Centre that remains deserted near the park close to Pankaj Plaza market, starting right from Meena Apartments to UNESCO. The other point spotted is near the DDA market, from the front lane of St. Andrews Scot School, near Ramakrishna Apartment leading to Madhu Vihar market through the back side of Rajdhani Nikunj and Narwana Apartment. “The parks adjacent to the apartments or colonies invite crimes of this nature. There is no proper picket or patrolling in the area that is one of the reasons for the crime to escalate.” A resident retorted.
Besides, Madhu Vihar market that remains abuzz with shopaholics and street food lovers has long been battling for a parking space and long traffic jams as half of the road remains encroached by fruit and vegetable sellers with their pushcarts spilling almost onto the road.
Buses and school vans parked on either side of the road hog and hijack the space of the road that makes the scenario all the more difficult.
