Launched a massive drive against illegal plying of inter-state buses

Delhi Traffic Police launched a massive drive against illegal plying of inter-state buses from various parts of the city.  As a part of the drive a dedicated team comprising of ASI Brij Nandan, ASI Brij Mohan, HC Yashbir & Ct. Saurab was constituted in the area of Sukh Dev Vihar Traffic Circle of Southern Range of Traffic to check such violations.

On 18.09.2019, during the special drive two buses having registration number UP-37-T-8543 and UP-15-AT-8737 were intercepted near Thokar No. 9 for unauthorisedly carrying passengers for Aligarh, UP.  On demand the driver of the bus could not produce any valid interstate permit, driving licence or other legally required documents to ply the bus.  Accordingly, both the buses were impounded after prosecution under relevant sections of law and deposited in the Traffic Pit. The buses will be released after decision of the court about the penalty.  Intensive action will continue in future as well to curb the illegal plying of such inter-state buses.
