NEW DELHI: In yet another incident of a major fire in the capital, two workers of a small jeans manufacturing unit died after blazes spread across a three-storey building in Kailash Nagar area in east Delhi on Sunday night.
Fire department officials said that the incident was reported to them at 11pm and the fire was brought under control after two hours. Two bodies were recovered from the first floor of the building, where the fire had started. The victims have been identified as Fezan (22) and Shahmat (30).
Six people who were living on the third floor had a narrow escape after they climbed to the terrace and moved to their neighbour’s house using a wooden ladder. DCP (Shahdara) Nupur Prasad said that a case under IPC sections has been registered to further investigate the case.
