New Delhi: It’s Delhi police that do us proud once again. The police personnel of Delhi police saved the couple by almost endangering their own lives.
A massive fire broke out in a house in Delhi’s Paharganj this morning.
In a very short span of time, the fire spread and engulfed the whole four-story building, and those lived on the fourth floor remained helplessly trapped there.
HC Manoj, Ct.Sandeep Yadav and Ct.Amit Kumar were on duty following the arrangement for Eid namaaz at a mosque nearby.
When they saw the smoke leaping out of the building they without wasting another minute rushed to the spot. A video camera was mounted to pan out the scene inside the building, that captured the pictures how the woman was stranded on the window of the fourth floor of the building.
The video clearly shows the building filled wd fire and smoke which makes the entry even tougher.
Neither fire brigade tenders nor cranes came to the rescue. No help in any format whatsoever reached the spot. Timely action was most needed at that point in time otherwise the couple might have lost their lives. Sensing the danger looming large, the brave trio took the plunge into the well of fire and dared the death in front.
They rushed to the neighbouring terrace and pulled out the woman wd the help of a ladder. This sends shivers down the spine. The daredevil police cops might have lost their lives had they not been prompt and watchful enough to take the call in the nick of time. They would have landed flat on their nose right from the fourth floor.
They instead displayed an act of bravery and saved two lives risking their own.
Commissioner of Police, Delhi Amulya Patnaik has declared A.K.P. (Asadharan Karya Puraskar) to Head Constable Manoj Kumar, constable Sandeep and Constable Amit of PS Pahar Ganj for displaying extraordinary courage and bravery for saving life of a couple trapped in a house on fire. Their names have also been recommended to MHA for Jeevan Rakshak Padak.
